Over the past few weeks we have had numerous complaints of dog fouling being allowed to happen around and close to the community centre.
People have ruined shoes and children have come in with dog mess on their feet which has also been on their hands!!!
This can be very dangerous as well as dirty.
We will be installing CCTV in the next few weeks and anyone identified who does not clean up after their dogs will be reported and could be fined up to £1000.

FOR ALL WHO REQUESTED TRAFFIC CALMING
i have just received this from TNI
Cllr Brenda Chivers
Sinn FΓ©in - Limavady

Traffic Calming Request - Beech road Drumsurn

With reference to your email requesting traffic calming at Beech Road, Drumsurn.

Transport NI receives many requests for traffic calming measures. These requests are assessed using a number of criteria, which include the reported injury collision history for the previous three years; the speed, volume and type of traffic; and the characteristics of the site, which includes the presence of schools, shops, etc. Of these we give the highest priority to safety because we believe it is only right to treat sites with a collision history before those with a reasonably good safety record.

I will arrange to have a traffic survey carried out followed by a full assessment. The survey will consider and record traffic flows and speeds continuously for approximately one week.

However due to our limited financial resources and the fact that funds have already been allocated for this financial year any potential scheme will compete with similar schemes on a basis of need and value for money when deciding on the programme of works for 2018/19 and subsequent years.

Motorists have a responsibility to drive appropriately, where there are instances where vehicles are not driven appropriately or where speeding occurs this should be referred directly to the PSNI who are the authority responsible for the enforcement of traffic law.

I trust you will find the above information helpful.

Regards
