Comment: Why is no one using the website no more, surly it is a simple thing to keep up and running and so informative when used properley. Surly someone out there is still interested in Drumsurn and local history, football, local gossip or anything that is happening, i am not an expert at the computer, but i used to sit and read some of the gossip that was local and about, now i am afraid it is all lost and history unless someone out there sits and says i have some info people might like to hear or local gossip to share. Wait to hear from you's. Davy

Comment: kristen, if ur comment relates to yesterdays football match i think its a bit early to be criticising. It was a friendly and it was the first match that they have played this year. I think that if players played bad they already know that themselves and know how they can improve. As far as the boxing goes thats a bit of craic and wen matches come round the last thing on their mind is boxing. Theres no need for negativity.....

A great team display every player played their heart out a pleasure to watch.Pity the County board couldnt even be bothered to turn up with a cup or trophy for the winners a bit of a let down after winning. Well done lads you did us all proud.

Comment: I am not saying that Drumsurn are not capable of playing top flight football-what I am saying is that when you have 5 of your regular/first choice players missing and the players that are replacing them are not attending training regulaily then we are at a disadvantage before the game starts. If all the players that are eligible to play for Drumsurn trained regularily then we would compete with anybody but until everybody comes on board the "bus"we will struggle.I have not questioned the ability of any of the players that played against Greenlough,Iam saying that if they are not training then they will be found wanting as other teams step up the challange and an element of players within the senior panel waill not be up to the challange because of lack of fitness and sharpness. The management can onlly train the players who turn up.If everybody would come on board the "bus" and give their all for a couple of seasons who knows-then it would be about being all inclusive as a Drumsurn GAA senior/reserve panel.Who Knows

Comment: It takes all sorts to fill a bus!!!! If you pay your fare you are entitled to take a seat on the bus. Passengers come in all shapes and sizes. I suppose my point is ‘I’d rather be filling a 56 seater than a 15 seater’. Numbers count …..

I think we all want the same thing but we have to face reality, we are a third division club not a top flight club we will always have passengers and without them we might as well sign up to play 7 aside tournaments. The GAA is all about inclusion. The passenger can sometimes surprise you.

Anyone agree/disagree???

Comment: The point that I was trying to make was that if you do not have a sufficient number of players at training and have a panel big enough that things can be freshened up during a match, some players know that they can put the minimum effort in at training and skip training and be nearly sure to start in matches because they are needed to fill out the team when regular players are missing.I did say that Drumsurn probably should have beat Greenlough but the problem is,and I have watched this as they have trained,if the numbers are not at training and some players are not prepared to put in the effort,it is very hard to have a cutting edge and work at game plans when they are training and only able to play 6 and 7 aside games in training. My point was that we do no have the strength in depth to put the pressure on for places because on Thursday night, and this is not a critism, there were 5 or 6 player who do not have it to compete at the higher level

Comment: I too was at the game last night. Drumsurn should have won it, Greenlough are not a good team. It’s the fifteen on the pitch that win a game of football and not the referee or umpires. They can only signal scores with their little white flags or record them in their little black book. We had three of the biggest players on the pitch last night and yet we were unable to win the midfield battle. If you do not win the mid field battle you do not stand a chance of winning the game. Every ball has to come through the middle of the park. No authority was stamped on the game last night by our midfield giants. It needs to improve if we want to remain in division three next year. Drumsurn have the talent no question about that. The defence was much improved last night. Our forwards need to be more clinical and have a bit more belief in their own ability. As a team we can’t keep asking Banty to pull us through game after game. How do we stop the counter attack? It has killed us all season. Forwards need to chase back. Yes we have injuries but the players on that pitch last night should have been more than capable of winning the game. We don’t want division four football next year.

Comment: Last night was a match that Drumsurn probably could have won but let me put thing into perspective.Greenlough had 10 subs,Drumsurn had 4 subs.Colm Feeny was injured with a broken finger after 7 mins and was replaced with a minor. We started with 5 first team regulars missing;M Coll(injured),Marty(injured),Jack(injured)Ryan Mullan(unavailable) and Stephen "Bartez"(injured). The players that took part in the match last night gave their all for the club but until Drumsurn are able to get a panel of players together that are able to commit to the cause and attend training regularily, not having 12 or 13 players there,we will always struggle when it comes to the business end of the league and championship.I have watched a lot of the training this year and Arthur and McGrath have put a big effort in and until some of the players decide just what they want to achieve with our seniors it is only then we can progress.

The way people having been giving senior players abuse here is uncalled for, these boys don't train from the winter to go out an lose on purpose. we have a small club and a small squad of players and we need everyone available to use if we want to be compete at the top of the league not fighting at the bottom

If we can get this team sorted injury free and playing together who knows what we can do. At the start of the year after 3 wins outa 3 not 1 player got stick then a couple of bad result we have a bad team. we need to get behind the team not against them. I know the weather played its part, but without the community support today’s events would have meant nothing.

To the Camogie girls and Footballers, well done in organising the mini blitz. To Eunan and Joe, I know it was a hard task picking teams from so many ‘old crocks’ but we enjoyed it. One of the highlights of the day was the fun and games organised on the pitch by Richard and Eamon Ferris, again well done.

A big thank you to Brenda Chivers for sponsoring the T-shirts that were issued to everyone on the day.

Today is what St. Matthew’s GAC is all about family, fun and sport. So go ahead and give yourself a big pat on the back.

Congratulations ……

Comment: I have watched a lot of the senior training since the beginning of the year and Drumsurn have been working with a limited number of people training, usually a maximum of 20.When we have a number of injuries and players not available,at the moment there are 7 first choice players missing from the panel,it is very hard to plug that gap.I do not think that it was a lack of passion or fitness that has caused this temporary dip in form,no team can function at the highest levl with such a lack of first choice players. On the training, the passion and discipline that James Mcgrath has brought to training is something that has not been seen in Drumsurn for a number of years but the players have to transfer the passion and commitment from the training field to the games and I believe that as our injured players return so will the results. So please look at the full picture before we ridicule.

Comment: To all under age players

If you have any issues that you want resolved / aired please feel free to discuss them with your respective management teams either as a collective unit or individually. The guest book was designed to allow club members and exiles to communicate and have a bit of banter.

If this is not an option for you then feel free to pop an e-mail to ‘info@drumsurngac.com’ and it will be forwarded to the underage management teams on your behalf.

Comment: I didn’t attend the championship game on Saturday so cannot comment, but waz Cahair OKane's match report in the Mid Ulster a true reflection of how the seniors played?

Was it one of those days?
